VICENZA, ITALY

For art history we had our last field trip. We went to Vicenza, which is half way between Verona and Padova. We started out by touring a villa that was built by Andrea Palladino This is the same architect who built the pantheon as well as an inspiration to the Monticello in Virginia. He made Vicenza famous for the villa as well as the Teatro Olimpico. We got to see both of them on our trip.

Our first stop was to the Villa: We were not able to take pictures inside, but the outside was very beautiful!

Our next stop (after a short lunch break) was to Teatro Olympico!

The town was so cute, it was hilly and filled with spring flowers and fields of grass and trees. It was gorgeous. Although it was only a short day trip, it was a great way to do some hands on learning and see the actually work of Andrea and how much it means to the town and its visitors.
